    Our Teachers

KIDSTAGE hires highly trained professional artists and arts educators and provides them with additional training in child development and KIDSTAGE techniques. Most teachers have at least two years experience teaching youth in the performing arts before joining the KIDSTAGE staff. Instructors are also required to pass a Washington State Patrol check and complete the Village Theatre Conduct with Minors form and an extensive orientation before working with students.

For more information, read about our instructors.

What do students do in class?

Classes use creative dramatics, music and movement, familiar story themes, games, arts and crafts, and lots of IMAGINATION to explore the fun of theatre. The KIDSTAGE class curriculums are designed to use theatre arts to encourage collaboration, teamwork and communication, respect for self and others, healthy and constructive behavior choices, as well as build self-esteem and confidence.

    Can parents observe classes?

KIDSTAGE utilizes an open ear policy in our classrooms. Instructors will keep the doors cracked open during classes to allow adults to unobtrusively observe their students. However, parents are asked to stay outside the classroom, as their presence may be a distraction to other students.

What can I expect in a final class demonstration?

On the final day of class or camp, family and friends are invited to observe a small in-class demonstration that allow them the opportunity to see what students have been working on all session. Demonstrations usually include: theatre games used during the session to teach specific theatre concepts, student explanations of terms and skills learned, and a presentation of some form of a story (improvised, guided or scripted).

  • Tuitions and Financial Assistance

Tuitions are specific to each class and camp. Please check the class schedule grid for tuition details.

    Discounts

10% discount when registering more than one student from the same family or when registering for more than one class. (Not valid with any other offers.)

    Financial Assistance

Village Theatre believes that experiential learning in theatre arts is a powerful tool for building essential life and career skills including critical thinking, concentration, collaboration, discipline, communication and creativity. So Village Theatre strives to ensure that all young people, regardless of financial circumstances, are able to participate in its programs.

Thanks to generous donors, foundations and corporate support we are able to offer scholarships (tuition credits) ranging from 25% to 75% off the published tuition.

The process for applying is easy and non-invasive! Families need only apply for financial assistance once per year. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to families whose incomes are 80% or less of the Area Median Income (per HUD income guidelines for Snohomish and King County). By signing the Financial Assistance Form, you are testifying to your income range and the associated tuition credit for which you qualify. Use the income worksheet to see where your household income, and family size, falls in our scholarship guidelines. There is no need to provide proof of income at this time. Village Theatre reserves the right to randomly verify submissions.

Limit 1 class or 1 production per session per student during Fall, Winter and Spring sessions.
Limit 3 camps or 1 production per student in the Summer session.

    Scholarship Application Process

You may complete the entire process online, or send hard copy forms by mail, or deliver them in person.

    Here’s what we need:
    1) Financial Assistance Form or Apply Online
    2) Registration Form or Register Online (above)
    3) Deposit-$25 per class and camp and $50 per production
*If you register online there is a place to indicate that you will be applying for financial assistance, then only the deposit will be charged.

    Payment Plans

Payment plans are available for Fall and Winter Sessions. A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration. Please call the KIDSTAGE office to arrange for a payment plan.

    Cancellation Policy
